The Dell SP2309W 23″ flatscreen 1080P LCD boasts 2048×1152 resolution, 300 cd/m2 of brightness, and the requisite DVI, HDMI, VGA ports. What caught our attention however was the reasonable price for all of this Dell goodness: $379. Good Dell? We’d say.

The newly announced Blackberry Storm 9530 is a sweet iPhone-like device, and for those of you with a short attention span, here’s 5 big reasons why its actually better than the latest iPhone.

#1. Proper camera: 3.2 megapixels, autofocus, flash, video recording with continuous video light option.

#2. Haptic feedback. This gives you the sensation of clicking through, preventing accidentally touching something, like the “END” button on your iPhone in phone mode.

#3. Worldphone - it pretty much is compatible with every global standard, and a swappable SIM card makes it pretty easy to go to a store in say Cambodia, buy a $15 SIM and pop it in with a new phone number.

#4. Battery is swappable - yes, not a huge deal but our iPhone battery doesn’t hold a charge anymore and to fix that involves shipping the iPhone to a help center and something like $85 - ouch.

#5. Read, edit Word, Excel, Powerpoint. If you’re boss sends you a spreadsheet and you can’t read it, it means you have to get off the beach.

Honda Insight to Make 60 MPG Affordable

The Honda Insight, which is due to dealers in Spring of 2009, is going to make getting 60 MPG accessible to everyone. At $18,000 MSRP, it is a full $4,000 less than the Toyota Prius. The Prius, the poster-child for energy-sipping transporation, is expected to start at $22,000 and float up to $24,270 for the touring edition.

The Honda Insight, which is the re-incarnation of the original Honda Insight, looks alot like the Toyota Prius, but its front grill also borrows heavily from Honda’s hydrogen experiment, the Clarity. The hatchback may be practical but slightly frumpy, but at 60 MPG-city and $18,000, we’re not complaining. Thanks, Honda!

Want to be on the right side of the climate problem, but can’t stand the treehugger vibe of the Prius, or the coke-sized Smart Cars? Your options currently are quite limited. Traditional SUVs like the Tahoe and Ford Escape are going hybrid but their gas mileage is still terrible. Now that Chrysler is jumping on the EV bandwagon however, the posterchild for SUVs, the Jeep Wrangler, will soon be going EV. Expected in in late 2010, the Jeep EV will let you have your SUV cake and your green credentials too.

No word yet on much more the EV version of the tough 4×4 will cost over the standard fuel guzzler, but given the Jeep’s low starting price, it shouldn’t be too bad.

Electric Bikes Become ‘Tres Chic’

Electric bikes are starting to take off. Sales are steadily climbing and the battery technology is moving into Lithium Ion - the same battery technology sexy electric sports cars such as the Fisker Karmen uses. They are also starting to shake off their geeky image - going in some cases, decidely retro.

Consider as an example of both fashion chic and modern sophisication, the Bridgestone Assista Stila L, which the Japanese Times labeled “tres chic”. The Assista can go 40 miles on a charge and feature nifty tail lights that run on solar power which automatically kicks in when the sun goes down. The Assista is expected to cost less than $1,000.

Another bike, the similarly lithium-ion powered Panasonic Lithium ViVi RX-10S, matches the Assista with lithium ion technology and solar-powered lights and raises with regenerative braking. Regenerative braking converts your braking momentum into increased battery juice. Sweet, and Panasonic claims the range can extend to a ridiculous 112 miles. The Panasonic is slated for release this Fall for $1,400.

Blackberry Storm, Like iPhone, Has No Camera Flash

After finding out that the T-Mobile Android G1 is missing Flash for the camera, a 3.5″ headphone jack and stereo Bluetooth, we’ve lost our excitement a bit.The same goes with the new Blackberry Storm worldphone.

This iPhone-style bad boy has alot of potential. It shoots 3.2 megapixel pics and VGA quality video. Tres handy my friends. It’s also quite slick and we know Verizion (its carrier) will give you the best sound quality around. The only (and yet major) downer is lack of camera flash. Let’s face it, that means not shooting pics at night - no fun.

Fisker Karma is the Sexiest Green Car

Ok, everyone has their own opinion, and the Tesla has better numbers overall, but style matters, and the Fisker Karma has to be the sexiest hybrid electric car we’ve seen yet — certainly in the under $100k category.

The Fisker Karma is an electric hybrid car (like the Chevy Volt), it’s Q-DRIVE technology allowing either electric only or gasoline power. Electric only mode can zoom off the lithium ion battery for up to 50 miles. The sports mode integrates a 4-banger for 0-60 in 5.8 with a top speed of 125 miles per hour. Priced at around $80,000, the Fisker Karma is like getting an electric Maserati Quattroporte for a fraction of the price. Was that sacrilege? Sorry, but we’d rather have a Karma.

Apparently the noise cancelling king of the hill, the excellent and stylish Jawbone, has been upended. Peep the new Motorola Motopure H15 Universal Flip Headset ($TBA, Q4 2008), which has just been rated the best Bluetooth headset for background noise cancellation.

The Motopure H15 practically dares you to make calls from baseball games and rock concerts. We’ve yet to get our hands on one for a full-review, but if the price is reasonable, we’d cop anything this small and this good at noise cancellation. (We live in New York City, afterall).

Enertia Electric Motorcycle Gets Funding

Brammo Motorsports just received a cool $10 mil for its Enertia Electric Motorcycle concept. Tech features of the bike include on-board GPS chip and WiFi port, which allows it to calculate metrics in real time - like your total carbon savings over a gasoline moto guzzler.

Honestly, we just posted the Enertia because it looks cool, and its about time more motorcycles went electric. Yes, they already get great fuel mileage, but after cruising the clogged arteries that are the streets of Bangkok and Phnom Penh, we think the air will be alot more breathable if even the motos went green.
